The Arts, Rule-Breaking, and a Sense of the New

So, “removing the gloss,” as Professor Martone suggests to us. . .

We’ve been thinking about rule-breaking in terms of censorship and freedom-seeking the past week, in terms of the “taboo” and outsider political speech.

Here are a couple of very different links that might provide us with ways to think about making us experience the conventional and cliche anew. . . . Or to use Dr. Lazer’s metaphor, “make use somewhat more aware of our own breathing” . . .
