I think that at this point in the world, schools should not necessarily worry so much about what type of music they are going to teach, but rather they need to address the fact that they need musical programs at their schools to begin with. If a school is just now getting involved in musical programs, they should try to find an all-emcompassing music program, and once this becomes established and many students get involved in it, then they should consider adding more classes solely dedicated to just rock music or just jazz music, whatever it may be.
schools should teach children all aspects and styles of music.
